BILANZ is Switzerland’s leading business magazine. The publication focuses on the economy and is published twice a week in German. It covers a wide range of topics, from economic research to ratings and services on investments.
In addition to this, it offers a wide range of information and advice on frugality and the responsible use of money. The magazine publishes a variety of rankings and is also known for its ratings on banks, airlines and hotels.
Bilanz regularly tests dozens of banks to find the best ones for its clients. It puts them through their paces for six months, accompanied by a real client who aims to invest a large sum of money in a particular bank.
Every year, Bilanz invites around 100 banks to compete for its title of ‘long-time quality leader’. The jury is made up of an expert panel of bankers and is tasked with testing the offer of each institution against a set of criteria.
As part of this exercise, the jury carries out an extensive private banking rating of each bank. In this way, the bank is tested for the quality of its service and the financial performance of its assets.
The top banks are then awarded the title of ‘long-time quality leaders’. These awards are a result of the extensive work of the Bilanz jury, which is made up of a team of experts in the field of finance and investment.
In addition, a series of additional questions are asked by the jury. This includes questions about the bank’s internal organisation, financial performance and the management of its subsidiaries.
To ensure that a bank can satisfy these requirements, the company needs a suitable business system. In the case of a medium-sized company, this could be an SAP solution or an ERP system like Microsoft Dynamics.
ELBA (Elektronische Bilanzabgabe) is an initiative of the Federal Government, which is intended to help reduce the costs and time of credit processes. It enables the e-submission of financial statements, which is based on the XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) format.
It also enables the submission of tax modifications and provides an overview of any changes in the income statement or balance sheet.
Using the SNI e-bilanz solution, you can map your general ledger accounts to the e-bilanz schemes (taxonomies) and deliver these e-documents to the government’s portal via a connector on premise or in the cloud. This allows you to meet all your e-bilanz reporting requirements.
